Spring Olympics 2026

Exactly one month and one day ago, I had the absolute joy and pleasure of celebrating my birthday with some of my pals in an epic night of Olympic games and PowerPoint presentations. Here’s a rundown of the event and some of my favorite parts.

The Idea

As with most of my recent adventures and escapades, the idea was born from musings with friends. Specifically, it was a conversation about Wii Sports over lunch. I don’t remember what triggered the conversation but I do remember that almost everyone at the table cracked a smile when Wii Sports was brought up. Most people had a favorite game (mine was Tennis) and found great satisfaction in griefing themselves and their friends or siblings with the jank AI and chunky Wii-mote controllers. I was delightfully reminded that I too was fond of those games I played (by myself, btw) and realized I haven’t really had much opportunity to experience the same kind of competitive mirth and incredulousness since then. After about two seconds of pining for those feelings again, I realized – wait! I have an apartment that I could host friends in! I could get a Wii or a Wii-adjacent console! I could relive some of those moments but with other people this time!!! And thus the seed was planted. Well, the second seed.

The first seed, PowerPoint night, was a dormant relic from a PowerPoint night with my group of friends I call the Chums. Last year, we all got together in the Chum Bucket (Discord channel) and presented what we all do for our day jobs because let’s be honest, do we really know what our homies do for work? (unless we work with them? But I mean… even then… LOL).

I had such a wonderful time learning how smart and cool my friends are and I am always so curious (arguably the most curious!) about the people I care about so I knew I definitely wanted to host something similar again but with my friends here in LA.

With not one but two!! ideas forming it was only a matter of time…

Game Planning

In fact, it only took 5 minutes after that lunch conversation a la Wii Sports (and a newly stoked burning desire to have Fun with my friends) for me to start reaching out to a couple of my capital G Gamer comrades about what to do. I got some really great feedback about possible games to play and some party formatting tips but what really helped solidify the event was meeting with my friend Patrick and going through his curated collection of games – both online and offline – amassed through similar events has hosted for his other friends. We already collaborated a bit previously at the Thanksgiving Games I hosted (also a medal event) last year but what I was looking to do for my birthday was way more involved.

Some of my goals for the party in its inception were as follows:

  • Have fun with my friends
    • Definitively one of my forever goals in life, no matter how old I am
  • Learn something new
    • My pockets are full of random knowledge and I aim to keep them that way for as long as I live
    • PowerPoint presentations, specifically 1 minute long PowerPoint presentations, were the perfect driver for this – low stakes, medium effort, high reward
  • Have different opportunities for my friends to shine or flop
    • I love when people are surprised by their own skill (or lack thereof)
  • Have my friends get to know each other
    • Because I have a few recurring characters in my life I like to mention my close friends to my other close friends by name so in some way or another everyone already knew about everyone else! Some of them just haven’t yet had the chance to formally meet yet so I thought this event would be a great opportunity
    • I used to be pretty shy about introducing a group of friends to a different group of friends but I am glad I have grown out of that. Absolving myself of the unreal expectation that all my friends must gel well with each other has really saved me a lot of bother haha. I’m friends with different people for different reasons but I think the core of it remains – thoughtful sweeties only!!!
  • Celebrate my birthday with people I care about
    • Birthdays for me were a source of discomfort for a long time. I would often dismiss the idea of doing anything for my birthday, let alone invite other people to do things with me for my birthday, but my mindset about this has changed as well and I’m very, very glad
    • Plus, celebrating my birthday is just another avenue for more fun to be had!

I shared these goals with my friend and it all came together rather quickly – different heats/legs to give individuals and teams chances to show their stuff, tactful team organization, and of course scheming silly moments for the group to experience together. Though at first I was really bent on hosting the games myself so that Patrick could be a guest at my party, he insisted that he didn’t mind hosting by himself so I could just have fun playing with our friends T_T I declined at first but as we continued talking through the different games and activities, I realized it would be very difficult for me to host and still fairly play so nearing the end of our planning together I resignedly asked if he could solo host for me (even though he offered it in the beginning already). Answer was yes! Maybe even a “yes/duh, of course” haha. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again but one of the greatest gifts anyone could ever get me is making it so that I don’t have to worry about something and this!!! was the ultimate present. I thanked him and besides the multiplayer games I expressed interest in playing, left all the games planning to him.

Now, you might think, wow easy, what a chill event! You didn’t even have to do anything and you just let your friend do all of the work!

WRONG!!!

I busied myself with other things!

Around-Game Planning (funny because this is what I do for work lol)

Now, if you know me at all, you know I love a good bit. And you know what makes a bit good? Details. I love details. Details are like the supporting arguments to the claim that I love you. I always wish it to be worth remembering how being important to me made someone else feel and I feel like I convey that care best and most consistently through the minutia. All that is to say that once I locked in the idea of my birthday being Olympics themed, I went all-in on planning, decorations, party favors, and medals to really sell the bit for my friends. The vision was clear. This timeline was roughly 4 weeks.

Planning

I made a Partiful event for the first time! Nothing custom for the image unfortunately, just a stock GIF of cute animals on podiums wearing medals, but I feel like that very quickly got the point across. What I spent most of my effort on was the event details, pasted down below!

Event Details

Greetings gamers,
I request 3 hours of your time to game like you’ve never gamed before at the inaugural Olympic Spring Games at Gabby’s Apartment, 2026.

Play is such an important part of my life and I would be honored if you would participate in some fun games and challnges with me to celebrate my birthday!

Co-hosted by the incredible [Patrick], materials and rules will be provided upon entry. Some games will be digital, some physical, and all m e n t a l. There will be memories made, pictures taken, and prizes won!

Required Action from each guest

Please prepare a 1 minute or less presentation (Google slide(s), PowerPoint, picture on your phone that I can cast to the tv, physical object, etc) on anything you want.

In the same way that play is important to me, so is learning, so please indulge the birthday gal and teach me (and everyone else) something! Could be as cool, funny, unserious, unforgettable as you like – could be anything about yourself, how to say “it’s cooked” in different languages, what “New England” (??) is, so on and so forth. Just be respectful and brief.

Submit your slides to me via email or bring them on your phone or on a thumb drive if you’re into that.

Please, please, please do this for me. Pleeeeeaaaaaseeeeeee!! I’m begging!! Thanks โค

Dress code

Athletic wear, whatever you’re comfortable in

The main purpose of a Partiful invite was to get information into the hands of 15+ people as easily as possible, of course for the initial invitation, but more usefully for the reminders to not be late and to come prepared in the days leading up to the event.

One of my pet peeves is tardiness and I knew with such a stacked schedule if anyone arrived late it would be a disaster. I would not be tolerating any sort of lateness – on my birthday no less!! So in the weeks leading up to it, I sent text blasts 9 days, 6 days, 3 days, and 1 day before the event, reminding people to please show up on time.

Everyone did ๐Ÿ™‚ YAY!

Food

The astute reader would note that I did not list “food” as something I went all-in on because, well, I did not. I kind of (literally) phoned in the food for this event which is something I would want to do differently when the next Olympics rolls around. Truthfully, it was not my main focus, but I still wanted to make sure people had something in their bellies so I put out some snacks (Oreo Thins, pretzel bites) and ordered a few pizzas from Prime and asked Patrick to make a salad for everyone so there’d at least be some vegetables present. My friend Katie brought Sopapilla Cheesecake (my favorite dessert that she makes) and others brought drinks. Although not my best work, because I did no work here LOL, it got the job done!

Medals

Last year, I hosted the Thanksgiving Games featuring Trivia from Patrick and a mini-Secret Mission game using some of my bulk Pokemon energy cards. I awarded gold medals labeled “Best Turkey” and “THX Games” for that event which got a lot of laughs and smiles. This time around, we definitely needed Bronze, Silver, and Gold medals and more fun labels to boot.

Me and my embossed label maker are like this ๐Ÿคž I love it because it’s fun to use and also embossed labels, to me, look and feel way more interesting than flat labels. These pics above are from WIP medal labeling – the final categories were:

  • TRIVIA – Troll Poll, Jeopardy
  • 4HEAD – 1v1v1v1s
  • HANDS – FFA online multiplayer games
  • RELAY – Morse Decode, Gonggi, Bean Transfer, Custom Wordle

And the MVP medals were:

  • TRIVIEST – Most Trivia questions answered
  • BEST HANDS/4HEAD – Best performance in these categories
MVP Awards
Crochet Mallards

In addition to MVP medals, I also wanted to crochet the official Spring Olympics 2026 mascot (more on that later) plushies for the most winningest team and people so I set off to create these mallards.

I followed this pattern for the head and body to a point (the pattern called for feet but I found them charming as roly-poly bottoms), and free-styled the wings and beaks.

I ended up making 7 mallards! 5 regular mallards and 2 shiny mallards for MVPs.

Slabbed Idols

At my local card shop one day I found a binder page chock full of the 1999 Pokemon Fossil Gambler Trainer card and was drawn to them immediately because of the simplicity of the card art and the fact it was just dice. I thought it was neat so I bought all 12 for $12 and I started casually collecting them over months, mostly because I liked them, but also because deep down I knew I wanted to share them with my friends in a game some day.

By the time the party rolled around, I had a whopping 18!

When discussing the initial party plans with Patrick, I shared my collection of Gambler cards and he suggested we incorporate them as Olympic Idols – relics that people could earn or find and use to gain an advantage in a game. As soon as we decided on it, I immediately started thinking of fun hiding places for a couple of them and nearly fell out of my chair when I thought to slab one of the Gambler cards to hide them among my display of other slabbed cards. High effort bit, unknown even if anyone would find it, but I was so chuffed with the idea that I made two. One for the games, another for a gift.

Two custom slabs of the Olympic Idol
Wooden Mallard

Lastly, I knew I wanted to give Patrick a little something extra for making my fever dream Olympics/PowerPoint birthday party possible. I would have loved to do it myself but didn’t have enough time so instead I bought him this very cute, hand carved and painted wooden mallard.

Party Favors

For months, I have been collecting Pokรฉmon card tins (much like those Gambler cards) and I had amassed quite a few by the time the party rolled around. I am still unsure what about the little vessels captivated me, maybe just that they’re small, cute, and possibly useful, but I knew I wanted to repurpose them for my friends somehow. And repurpose them I did!

In the tins for each guest I placed:

  • 1 pack of Riftbound (Chinese)
  • 1 golden puzzle piece pin
  • 1 tiny resin mallard
  • 1 hand-cut, hand-stamped, and hand-written thank you note! Fun fact, I got this beloved dice stamp made when I was in New York for Christmas last year. I didn’t necessarily have this use-case in mind but I really am thankful past me wanted it made so bad because it was perfect! It reminds me of the Gambler card too

In each gift bag, I placed:

  • 1 Pokรฉmon tin
  • 1 star-shaped stress ball
  • 1 fuzzy mallard key-chain
    • I got these before I decided to crochet mallards because I knew that real Olympics athletes would get their medal and be gifted a plushie of the mascot of that year’s games. I wanted everyone to go home with some Spring Olympics merch but later decided that I wanted winners to feel more special LOL

And finally, I wanted one memento to be representative of the night so I used my handy dandy Canon IVY 2 mini photo printer to print a group picture of us and slot it into the clear magnet. Since the medals weren’t given out until the end of the night, I had to get creative with people who left before the closing ceremonies by using a different photo haha. I am very glad to have thought of that as a party favor though. Despite the high effort of getting everyone to take a group pic and also printing out 15+ of them, it was so worth it because seeing it on my fridge makes me smile every time. Also the reason for the Athletic/Athleisure dress code was because I got red, yellow, green, and blue sweatbands and wristbands for everyone to don once teams were announced. I thought they would make for great pics and Olympic vibes all around and I was right!!

Here are the two pictures I used (lol alt art) for the magnets ๐Ÿ™‚

Decorations

I unfortunately only took a video of my apartment after it was fully decorated and don’t want to post it on the internet but think: gold! I got some shiny gold metallic tablecloths to cover my bookcase and dining room table as well as some fun star curtains to hang up on designated doorways (all but my bedroom’s). I also strung together two word banners, one that read “SPRING OLYMPICS” and another that read “GABIRTHDAY” because that’s hilarious. My friends had a bit where they were pre-pending “Gab-” to a bunch of random words, unknown to me still the cause but tickles me to think about now and again – especially because that conversation seemed to have transcend past the group chat, but more on that later.

Though I can’t show you most of my decorations LOL I can at least show you these though!

One, a cheeky way to hide an Olympic Idol (one of my favorite moments of the night was seeing a group of people beeline for the door, seeing people hold other people back, trying to get to this idol right after the concept was formally introduced).

The other, well, the official lit Olympic Torch of the 2026 Spring Olympics. ๐Ÿ™‚

Event Day

Opening Ceremonies

We started promptly at 6pm as intended. I kicked off the night by thanking everyone for attending the Spring Olympics, covered some ground rules, and passed it off to my host for some rules of the evening, who then passed it back to me so I could kick off our presentations with a presentation of my own.

PowerPoints

My presentation was a quick dive into some weird Olympics mascots (namely Izzy from the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics and the Wenlock and Mandeville from the 2012 London Summer Olympics) but I actually had to cut those portions out in order to have enough time to explain our very own 2026 Gabby’s Apartment Spring Olympics mascot: Gabito!

Here’s my presentation in full in case you’re interested:

I chose the mallard as our official mascot this year because they’re cute, resilient, simple to crochet, and an easy segue into teaching my friends some various Filipino words. I have no formed attachment to any particular duck but I do think they’re fun and interesting creatures and I smile whenever I see them swimming in puddles or pools in LA. I especially like it when they’re in pairs.

I loved the PowerPoint section of the night and I think a lot of people enjoyed it more than they would have thought too! Everyone brought knowledge from all over.

Some presentations and a couple of slides from them for your perusal:

Sorting the Teams
Guess Who (or What?)

The host had us sort ourselves via a game of Guess Who! Each participant was given a sticky note with a named food/cuisine on it and each person was instructed to 1) not read it and 2) only ask yes/no questions to the others in order to determine which food they were. And then once the food was determined, find the 3 other like-foods and boom – that’s your team!

It was fun and funny to hear “Am I.. soup-y?” and “Am I a dessert?” or “Am I hard to make?” from everyone as we tried to sort ourselves out as quickly as possible. Eventually, we got 4 even teams sorted and I shared the wristbands and headbands I got for everyone and we were off to the first leg of the games.

TRIVIA
Troll Poll

Our first event of the night was Troll Poll. This activity required guests to fill out a survey ahead of time and without discussing answers with others, ranking 8 choices from best/most likely/most accurate (1) to worst/least likely/least accurate (8) and then later working with your team to mind-meld and figure out which options ranked where collectively amongst the entire group of people who filled out the survey.

Pizza Toppings: Pineapple, Mushroom, Pepperoni, Bacon, Bell Pepper, Sausage, Arugula, Olive

Animal you are most likely able to survive against in a 1v1: Tiger, Rhino, Lion, Crocodile, Elephant, Polar Bear, Leopard, Hippo

And as alluded to earlier, the pre-pended “Gab-” concept seemed to make its way in some form to Troll Poll because the final question was “Whose birthday is it?” hahaha: Gabite, Goopy, Ghibli, Guppy, Gubfrey, Grubby, Gumby, Gabbro

I learned that within even my small group of 4 people answers varied wildly. Funny to hear “Bro a POLAR BEAR would definitely kill you on sight. Tigers want to be alone”. Good way to get the groups chatting, thinking, defending their takes, and attacking others haha.

Jeopardy

Patrick made two Jeopardy boards for us to play and here are screenshots of the boards. We buzzed in (as individuals) via buzzin.live but points were awarded to teams.

Jeopardy was such a big hit at the Thanksgiving Games last year and I’m so glad we got to play again for the Olympics. Patrick makes the boards himself so I really appreciated the the time and effort required to not only come up with fun questions but also fun categories and apt, short names for categories.

Classical Music – all answers were related to classical tunes. Not my forte but knew more than I thought I did, was just not confident enough and definitely not fast enough to buzz in HAHA.

Animal Anagrams – all answers were an anagram of a word in the phrase describing an animal. Very clever category and some of my friends were really quick and good at this!

Down, Set, What? – all answers were related to football teams. I liked that the question worth the most points’ answer was the Seahawks. The Seattle Seahawks!! GO HAWKS!!

Let’s Roll – all answers were a game that uses dice. Liar’s dice (one of the favorite games to play at my house for game nights) mentioned!

Yes, Queen! – all answers had the word “Queen” in them. My favorite question was some broken down Fetty Wap lyrics and and the answer was, of course, “Trap Queen”. Yahhhh baby.

It’s My Turn – all answers had the word “Turn” in them.

Legendary Abilities – all answers were a League of Legends Champion ability name. I loved this category and I think a lot of people were really locked in too. Got a lot of League Heads in my circle.

Prime Rhyme Time – all answers were a phrase that rhymed. Super impressive category, very hard to come up with questions to describe a sensical, rhyming phrase. Everyone loved this one and again, some people smurfed – much to their own surprise and delight, which was the goal ๐Ÿ™‚

Full Steam Ahead – all answers were names of Steam games.

Off the Shelf – all answers were related to shelves. My favorite question’s answer (and maybe the only one I knew from this category) was Git haha. Cheeky.

Green team, my team, came away with the first team win of the night (specifically because of my friend Ryan carrying us, thanks Ryan)!

4HEAD

This next portion of the night was dedicated to 1v1v1v1 where each team selected one representative to fight for their team win on the main stage (my couch).

  • Inch Worm – Show the host x cm on a tape measure
    • Hilarious, also doubly hilarious that the host asked participants to show CENTIMETERS instead of inches on a measuring tape hahaha. Yards would’ve been diabolically funny too
  • Perfect Timing – Stop the clock at a designated time
    • This was one of the events I got to represent my team in and I did surprisingly well on one of them! I wouldn’t say I’m particularly sensitive to the passing of time but I’m not, not sensitive to it. Plus I’ve been doing music a lot more actively lately so maybe we can chalk it up to that. Either way, W
  • Mass Attack – Guess the closest weight in grams of x items
    • The host asked people to guess the weight in grams of a glass cup, a mini bottle of Gatorade, and my kitchen timer. Someone used an idol this game and their power up was that they were able to know the grams of another, similar object of their choosing – a half full mini bottle of Gatorade. It wasn’t as helpful as everyone thought it would be LOL
  • Memory Tray – Memorize the items on a tray and answer questions about them
    • Fun to see the participants sweat a bit while the rest of us got to stare at the tray hahaha
    • I wanted to put an Olympic Idol as one of the items on the memory tray to see if people would register and snatch it but forgot to put it on the tray T_T next time
  • Pirate Standoff – Stand on one leg for as long as possible with your eyes closed
    • I wasn’t a participant in this one but I know it is super difficult! When we close our eyes we deny ourselves the visual input required to help orient ourselves quickly so our inner ear and muscles have to work even harder to offset small disturbances
    • Yes, I was a Cognitive Science major
  • Lyrical Genius – Listen to a sound clip and finish the lyrics
    • Who knew that the lyrics to Rihanna’s Umbrella were “When the sun shines, we’ll shine together/ Told you I’ll be here forever”? Answer: 2/4 people!
    • Who knew the lyrics to Post Malone’s Sunflower? Answer: 0/4 people! LOL
  • Watch your Language – Identify the written language on screen
    • The representatives sent for this game were definitely the best ones to be doing this game in particular. I heard people in the audience verbally head scratch (and I even saw them do it physically too). Very impressed by my friends who could correctly identify languages based on seeing written script alone!
  • Is AI banned? – Identify which jazz clips are AI-generated or played by humans
    • I got to play in this one and I did well – way better than I expected ๐Ÿ™‚ Yay! I identified every clip correctly except for one. The final sound clip was so… interesting that I literally said “I’m gonna say it’s real because I want it to be real” AND I WAS RIGHT!!! Humans made that!! And I promptly started playing the game with the song in it the week after, just so I could listen to more music

There was a THREE WAY TIE for this leg – Yellow, Green, and Red!!!

HANDS

This portion of the night was dedicated to free for all multiplayer games. Here’s the setlist we decided on:

  • SpeedRunners
    • Run, jump, swing, and use tools to win the race
    • Super hype, epic opener to the Hands category of the night! Screaming, gasps, eyes locked on the screen, electric energy
  • Ultimate Chicken Horse
    • “Chickey-doo”, a party platformer game where you build the level and complicate it with traps and hazards
    • I won ๐Ÿ™‚
  • Thief Town
    • Multiplayer stealth game where you lurk and stab, very fun even though stealth games usually stress me out
    • Super funny that the only letters you can use to name your character are “U, R, L, D” for Up, Right, Left, and Down
  • STARWHAL
    • Pierce the heart of your fellow narwhals in the arena with your narwhal horn
    • I did not win but I put up a good fight! Lots of silliness and a few controller diff moments
  • Lethal League
    • Projectile fighting game using an anti-gravity ball that increases in speed with every strike
    • Very hype, very fun game – fast reactions and some giga luck made for funny KOs
  • Nidhogg
    • Fencing tug-of-war
    • Epic tournament structure was sooooo hype, the final battle was minutes long which is ages if you’re locked in! And they WERE! People expressed a lot of interest about wanting to play this one again at a regular game night and I can definitely see it happening

Blue team came away with the win for this leg!

RELAY

By this time, it was maybe around 11pm. Some people had left already but the final leg, the Relay Race, was the last leg of the evening. It consisted of 4 tasks:

  • Morse Decode
    • A pair per team had to decode a word encrypted in morse code! Spoiler: this was so difficult I’m not sure anyone was able to solve this without gracious help and hints from the host hahaha and I say this as one of the people in my pair doing this activity LOL
    • Really cool idea though. Inspired the thought that maybe I should make it a point to know more than S.O.S. in morse code…
  • Gonggi
    • A traditional Korean children’s game, similar to Jacks, but instead of using small stones we used dice
    • The person had to toss some dice up in the air and catch them on the back of their hand and then toss them again and catch them in their hand
  • Bean Game
    • Transfer dried beans from one plate to another using chopsticks
    • High dex, saw some interesting technique (including boxing out opposing members away from their plates)
  • Custom Wordle
    • The word was “BIRTH” :’-)

The Yellow team won the relay!

Closing Ceremonies

By the end of the night, maybe a bit after midnight, it was time for the tally, awards, and handing out the party favors. We had all just played games for 6!!!! hours so it really was a commendable feat to not only stay up that late but also be active for that long. Giving my friends their well-deserved medals was very fun and everyone was surprised by the party favors. Standings for the night:

  • Green team took the Gold overall
    • Gold for TRIVIA, Silver for HANDS, Silver for RELAY, and Bronze for 4HEAD
  • Yellow team took the Silver overall
    • Gold for RELAY, Bronze for TRIVIA, and Bronze for 4HEAD
  • Red team took Bronze overall
    • Gold for 4HEAD, Silver for TRIVIA, Bronze for HANDS
  • Blue team took Gold for HANDS and Bronze for RELAY

MVPs:

  • Matt (Red team) and Ryan (Green team), recipients of the only two shiny Gabito mallards in the whole wide world ๐Ÿ™‚

After all the medals and gifts were handed out, I felt really… happy. Exhausted, definitely dehydrated, but still so full of adoration for my pals and all the fun we had screaming, laughing, clanking around in medals, all through the night. Usually after big events, I feel some emptiness that all the fun was done but I didn’t feel that this time. I was just happy to have had so much fun, happy to be around people who wanted to play with me, and happy that everyone I saw that night, I knew I would see again soon.

And finally, what’s a birthday without a cake? Well, Patrick also got me an amazing, delicious cake that we ended up eating over the next few days because everyone was too sleepy to cut into it past midnight hahaha. Please admire this cake though. He made the G in blueberries himself!

The most delicious birthday cake I’ve ever had that I literally froze the last two pieces I had before I left for a trip because I didn’t want to throw away or rush through a single slice – Chocolate Raspberry

Prologue

I often feel like I need a reason or excuse to ask people to do stuff for or with me and usually being the one to initiate plans and facing rejection/being forgotten really wears me down, especially when it’s a thousand times easier to be alone. If it weren’t for my birthday coming up soon and the perfectly timed inspiration and overwhelming desire to play, I am not sure I would have had the wherewithal to try and go for something so big and ambitious. Thankfully, the stars aligned, things came into fruition, and I really am so glad that I shared the inkling of desire with my friends who all came together to make it happen for me.

Similar to how my trip to New York inspired me to get a car and do more things for myself, this birthday party also inspired me to dream big about the different ways I can have fun with my friends but this time… all year round!! I don’t want to wait for more excuses or reasons to do things anymore so even though I am comfortable and happy by myself to do most things on my own, I’ll keep asking my friends to play with me even if it’s easier not to because I love them and things can be more fun when experienced together with someone else. Besides, I know most people like to be asked (including me, ahem).

If you are here, you are likely already one of my friends too so, love ya, and thank you for reading!

BONUS: Metadata

I thought it would be fun to include random metadata for all the posts I write moving forward – gives the reader a sense of my setup when I hole up for hours to write stuff on the internet.

Music I listened to while writing this – Bloom-Intro, all of Ender Lilies OST

  • This is the piece I am currently practicing. Surprisingly, this is the first time I have ever opted to play a piece of music from a video game I haven’t played yet! I have been listening to the OST as well and it’s quite remarkable. There are some beautiful, ambient tracks and some pretty chilling ones as well. Usually I would wait to listen until after playing the game because when and what music plays in any form of media helps me form stronger interest but since I’ve already made the exception for Bloom, I figure why not. I’ll get to the game eventually, surely ๐Ÿ™‚

Game(s) I have been playing while writing this – Hollow Knight and The Sexy Brutale

  • One is a tried and true favorite as I’m gearing up for my annual stream in September
  • The other I picked up because I was inspired by the Is AI Banned? game!

What am I writing about next?

  • Sand Dunes 2026
  • Puzzle Spring 2026
